Eugene Police Department collects more than 12,000 diapers for Lane County Diaper Bank

EUGENE, Ore. – A drive to collect diapers for the Lane County Diaper Bank far surpassed initial goals and expectations, according to the Eugene Police Department. EPD officials said that their annual Lane County Diaper Drive collected a total of 12,801 diapers, which was more than double their goal of 5,800 diapers. The total donations are enough to provide up to 500 families each a 25-pack of diapers, police officials said. According to Teresa Bauer, the founder and executive director of the Lane County Diaper Bank, the drive was an extraordinary success given that the bank provides 20,000 diapers each month at no charge to families in need.
