Fountain Inn firefighter David Dixon was just starting the 8th grade on Sept. 1, 2001 when the U.S. came under attack. Terrorists hijacked jetliners, crashing them into the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. A third plane, which was intended to target the U.S. Capitol, crashed into a rural Pennsylvania field when passengers fought back against the terrorists.
