Alison Ojeda signs contract extension after Tennessee women’s tennis run to Final Four

Tennessee women’s tennis coach Alison Ojeda has signed a one-year contract extension after leading the Lady Vols to their first Final Four berth in more than two decades.

The eighth-year coach led Tennessee to its second-ever appearance in the NCAA Final Four . The first appearance was in 2002, when Ojeda was a senior on the team. Tennessee has recorded back-to-back seasons of at least 21 wins, which has resulted in the winningest two-year stretch for the program since 2002-23.

Ojeda’s extension includes a raise from $210,000 to $230,000 in base salary through June 30, 2029.

Ojeda, who was 36 weeks pregnant at the Final Four, was named the 2024 ITA National Coach of the Year. Tennessee’s final ranking of No. 12 was their highest finish since 2010.

“Our women’s tennis program has continued to show phenomenal growth under Alison’s leadership,” Tennessee athletic director Danny White said in a school release. “It’s remarkable that in our history, we have been to two Final Fours — the first with Alison as a player and the most recent historic run last season as a coach — she really is the embodiment of a Lady Vol!”
