Boy arrested after being accused of pointing gun at Phoenix school bus full of students

Phoenix police on Tuesday investigated reports of a boy pointing a gun at a school bus filled with students.

Witnesses called police about seeing the boy with the gun shortly after 8 a.m. , police said. He was pointing the handgun at the bus while it drove away, they said. The incident happened near Christown Spectrum Mall.

Officers learned that the boy had been arguing with a student, police said. After the student got on the bus to leave, the boy brandished a handgun, police said. No shots were fired.

A school at 15th and Missouri avenues was locked down as officers searched for the boy, who was found in a nearby apartment, police said.

The school reopened after the boy was taken into custody, police said.

The boy was booked on multiple felony charges, police said.
