Man charged with murder in North Carolina shooting

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) — One person was shot and another injured in a Saturday morning shooting that Robeson County authorities are calling a homicide.

It happened just before 1 a.m. on Mt. Zion Church Road in Red Springs. James Lowery, 19, died at UNC Southeastern Medical Center from gunshot wounds while another person was transported to an undisclosed medical facility.

James Isaac Hardin, 20, of Red Springs, was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious bodily injury and discharging a firearm within an enclosure to incite fear.

He’s being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond, and more arrests are expected. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 910-671-3170 or 910-671-3100.
