TLH Eats: Tallahassee’s Clusters and Hops celebrates 25 years of operation

Say cheers to Clusters and Hops, the bistro best known for its selection of imported wines and an eclectic menu, as it celebrates 25 years of operation this month.

After 23½ years at its cozy North Monroe Street location, the bistro has settled into a newer, more spacious space on Thomasville Road, tucked between Five Guys and Volcano Hot Pot and BBQ in the Capital Plaza, offering the same ambience but a refreshed touch of elegance.

At first, you might miss its new storefront, but those who’ve followed the establishment over the last two decades, consistently lured by enticing scents of luxe wines and foreign cheeses, would agree: The hidden gem is not to be overlooked.

The restaurant is celebrating with running specials on wines, foods and desserts. The consistent endorsements from guests and refreshed culinary combinations from the mastermind chef help it maintain a loyal following.

“If you have a passion, and you like coming to work, and you like what you do, that’s what keeps me going. That’s why I’m still here,” owner Kent Steels told the Tallahassee Democrat while sitting at the bar, hours before that day’s opening.
