Longmont to receive $1.2 million in federal funds for Vision Zero plans

Longmont will receive $1.2 million of federal funding to put toward its Vision Zero efforts, Rep. Joe Neguse, D-Lafayette, announced this week in a news release. Last year, the Longmont City Council adopted a resolution committing to Vision Zero, a national program that has a goal of eliminating traffic deaths and severe injuries on the roadways. Longmont’s Vision Zero resolution calls for zero fatalities on the city’s streets by 2040 along with the elimination of serious injuries.
