Deion Sanders addresses Colorado State trash talk ahead of Showdown: ‘That’s too easy’

The Rocky Mountain Showdown is personal once again.

It was a relatively quiet lead up to Saturday’s rivalry game between Colorado and Colorado State, until it wasn’t.

A media day interview with CSU quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi and star receiver Tory Horton recorded in August surfaced online Wednesday night. The duo shared their thoughts on last season’s double-overtime thriller won by the Buffs.

“We owe them one and that’s just something that’s been sitting on everybody’s mind since we came back from break,” Horton said in a video posted by Romi Bean of CBS . “I don’t feel like we left it all out on the field because we should have murdered them guys.”

“The hype, the media train, all of that, it only gets you so far,” Fowler-Nicolosi added. “At the end of the day, you have to line up 11 guys against our 11 guys, and we’ll find out who wants it more. We’ll see how far Instagram followers gets them.”

Inevitably, word quickly got back to Deion Sanders and the Colorado football team.
