Larose pushing weak voter fraud cases, prosecutors association says: Capitol Letter

Flawed and order: Of the 631 cases of potential voter fraud that Secretary of State Frank LaRose has referred to county prosecutors since he took office in 2019, only 12 have resulted in criminal charges. Per Andrew Tobias, LaRose this week asked Attorney General Dave Yost to review the 219 cases that didn’t result in charges, saying that county prosecutors hadn’t investigated at least some of them adequately. A top official at a trade association that represents county prosecutors fired back, saying LaRose had turned over weak cases, while Yost said he didn’t have legal authority to investigate most of the cases. Regardless, the cases represent an infinitesimal percentage of the tens of millions of ballots Ohioans have cast in the past five years.
