Tiny Porch Concerts to take over Richmond’s Woodland Heights neighborhood

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Three porches in Richmond’s Woodland Heights neighborhood will transform into stages on Sunday as they host multiple “Tiny Porch Concerts,” featuring local artists.

This year, the Woodland Heights Tiny Porch Concert Series — which organizers describe as the product of over a year of grassroots community efforts — has lit up a Sunday evening in Woodland Heights once a month since June.

This month, this free, outdoor musical celebration will take place the evening of Saturday, Sept. 15. Three host porches will feature two musical performances each — meaning those who come out have the opportunity to experience six of these tiny concerts.

“This deliberate organization ensures that Woodland Heights’ residents, whether long-time locals or recent newcomers, can enjoy a relaxed and regular opportunity to explore the charming streets of our wonderful neighborhood,” organizers said on the Tiny Porch Concerts website. “These outdoor Sunday events offer a chance for Woodland Heights residents, as well as those from nearby neighborhoods within walking distance, to come together, share smiles, engage in conversations, and relish in the music of local, diverse Richmond artists.”
