Florida man wins million in $1 Million a Year For Life scratch-off game, takes lump sum

Another Hillsborough County man was a big winner.

In April 2023, Jamarr Lewter of Thonotosassa bought a $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular scratch-off game for $50 and won a million bucks, according to a release Thursday from the Florida Lottery .

Lewter, 39, opted for the one-time, lump-sum payout of $640,000. He bought his ticket at the 7-Eleven at 8305 West Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket , lottery officials said.

About the $1 Million A Year For Life Spectacular scratch-off game

According to lottery data , 144 people have won $1 million in this game since March of last year, although only one person won the grand prize of $1 million for life. That was Marquis Allen Anderson of Fort Lauderdale, who took the lump sum payout of $16 million.

The game’s overall odds of winning something are 1-in-4.5, the Florida Lottery says. The odds of winning a million dollars is 1-in-185,709. the best odds to become a millionaire (before taxes) of any game in the Florida Lottery.
