Rain sets new records in Anchorage before drier weather returns Friday

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – It’s been nine straight days of rain in Anchorage, with the heaviest rain falling on Thursday. Thursday’s rain of 0.85 inches as of 6 p.m. is the most rain to ever fall on record for Sept. 12 – the previous record was 0.76″ in 1966. This is also the fourth-wettest day of 2024.
