Restaurant chain to open its first NC location in former Joe’s Crab Shack in Fayetteville

The location of the former Joe’s Crab Shack in Fayetteville, which closed in 2023 after more than two decades in business, will soon have a new tenant offering Asian cuisine.

The 6,974-square-foot building at 155 N. McPherson Church Road, which has been vacant for more than a year , will be home to Yummy Bowl . The growing restaurant chain with eight locations and 11 coming-soon eateries across the country, is set to open its first North Carolina location in Fayetteville, according to the company’s website .

Bill McFadyen, a broker for Riddle Commercial Properties, which owns the space leased to Yummy Bowl, said the restaurant is scheduled to open in late spring 2025 and will feature a diverse menu including sushi, ramen, stir-fry and Korean fried chicken.

The chain’s menu draws from a range of Asian culinary traditions, offering a variety of dishes designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes, according to its website .

What’s on the menu at Yummy Bowl?

Yummy Bowl’s menu features a variety of appetizers including shumai, gyoza and crab rangoons, as well as soups and salads like spicy kani salad, miso soup and seaweed soup. Diners can customize their own “yummy bowls” in the Mongolian stir-fry section by selecting a protein, sauces, seasonings and a base, the website said.
