Children can bring their plush toy and be ‘stuffed’ with knowledge at Portsmouth health clinic

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Children’s Museum of Virginia announced their first annual Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters Teddy Bear Clinic in Portsmouth.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 221 High Street, Portsmouth.

The event invites children to bring their favorite stuffed animals for a day of hands-on learning about health and wellness check-ups.

“At the Teddy Bear Clinic, children can play the role of caregivers, working alongside local healthcare professionals to ‘diagnose’ and ‘treat’ their plush toys,” a release states. “The event aims to help young children feel more comfortable with healthcare settings, easing any anxieties they may have about doctor visits or medical procedures.”

The first 500 children will receive a Children’s Museum of Virginia teddy bear. The Teddy Bear Clinic is included with the price of museum admission.
