Poudre School District Superintendent Brian Kingsley eliminates 3 cabinet positions

Corrections and clarifications: Following the original publication of this story, Poudre School District Superintendent Brian Kingsley said the $280,000 in cost savings from reducing the size of his cabinet was in addition to the district’s previously announced $6.6 million cuts in its overall budget.

Poudre School District Superintendent Brian Kingsley has eliminated three positions from his cabinet “to streamline the leadership structure of our district,” he announced in an email to staff Thursday.

The positions of chief human resources officer, chief operations officer and chief information officer have been removed from the superintendent’s cabinet, reducing the size of his cabinet from 12 to nine.

All three positions became vacant through resignations over the past three months, so no individuals are being demoted or losing their jobs. Erich WonSavage, who had been the chief human resources officer, and Jeff Connell, who had been chief operations officer, both resigned in late June. And Chief Information Officer Madeline Novey, who had been on leave since April, is resigning Sept. 19, according to personnel moves approved by the Board of Education during its regular meetings.
