Pinpoint Weather: Cloudy and cooler Friday, showers possible

ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR ) — It will be a cloudy and cooler end to the week in Southwest and Central Virginia. Light rain showers are possible for the next few days.

For the end of the week, easterly winds will carry moisture off the Atlantic Ocean while moisture from the remnants of Francine will stream into the Mid-Atlantic. These two factors will result in cloudy conditions across the region on Friday with light rain showers possible. There’s a slightly greater chance for showers south of U.S. 460, so not everyone will see wet weather. The cloudy skies will keep temperatures on the cooler side with highs in the 70s.

Spotty light rain showers and areas of drizzle are possible on Saturday and Sunday with variably cloudy skies overhead. Highs will be in the middle/upper 70s and lower 80s. Morning temperatures will be milder with lows in the 50s and 60s.

It won’t be a soaker or a washout; not everyone will see rain over the weekend. Rainfall amounts will generally be less than a quarter inch between Friday and Sunday.
