This Springfield senior was named the Ozarks’ Student of the Week

Another week is behind us, and as we head into mid-September it is time to announce our newest Student of the Week.

This week the title goes to a senior at Springfield Public Schools’ Study Alternative Education Center, Aaliyah Walski. Described as a great leader, Walski mentors younger students. She has also made the decision to complete extra credits in order to graduate in December. Her teachers highlight her positive attitude, leadership and ambition.

Student of the Week is an initiative by the News-Leader to highlight the academic achievements of local area high school students. Nominations for students who have shown outstanding academic and school achievement and community service are gathered from administrators at participating districts in the Ozarks.
