Colombian men sentenced for car bomb attack on military base; injuring 3 U.S. soldiers

MIAMI, Fla. (CBS12) – Two Colombian nationals were sentenced in connection to a plot to murder U.S. soldiers in 2021. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Thursday, 40-year-old Andres Medina-Rodriguez and 31-year-old Ciro Gutierrez-Ballesteros were sentenced to 35 and 30 years for conspiring and attempting to murder U.S. soldiers by detonating a car bomb outside a military base near the Colombia-Venezuela border.
