Parrot Heads help Valerie’s House

CHARLOTTE HARBOR — The Charlotte Harbor Parrot Head Club assembled over the Labor Day weekend to celebrate its 17th birthday.

The birthday bash also raised money for Valerie’s House.

The club was founded in 2007 and quickly became a staple in the community for enjoying Jimmy Buffett’s music as well as giving back to those in need.

“The club’s members, often seen dressed in colorful shirts and leis, have consistently engaged in various charitable initiatives over the years, and this birthday celebration was no exception,” a news release said. “Members of the club marked the occasion with a festive party that embodied the essence of their community spirit.”

The birthday bash was celebrated at Sheraton Four Points Harbor Garden with a pirate theme. Parrot Heads, disguised as pirates, enjoyed live music and food, together.

“From beach cleanups to fundraising events, the Parrot Heads have built a strong legacy of community support, but the highlight of the celebration was the generous donation made to Valerie’s House,” the news release said. “It’s a place where children can go to find comfort, support and healing and there is no other place like it in Southwest Florida.”
