Salad packs made at Topeka Reser’s plant recalled due to ‘foreign materials’

TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – Salad products made at a Topeka-based Reser’s Fine Foods plant are being recalled, out of caution, due to the presence of “foreign materials.”

The Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) issued an alert Thursday, Sept. 12 for six different products made by Reser’s in Topeka. These amount to just over 600 salad cases distributed in Kansas, Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri, North Carolina, Illinois and Arkansas.

Reser’s initiated a recall for the salad cases on Aug. 2, 2024. The FDA’s recent alert classifies this recall as ongoing and a “Class II” recall, meaning exposure to the salad products may lead to adverse health conditions.

The Reser’s Brand responded to a 27 News information request Friday, Sept. 13 on the recall. The company said the company quickly began efforts to recover all of the salad cases and remove them from store shelves. No reports of illness or adverse reactions have been received by Reser’s in connection to the recalled items.
