4 injured when car clips bus, crashes on US-131

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A car crashed after clipping a school bus on the highway in Grand Rapids Friday morning.

Around 10:30 a.m., the Michigan State Police said that troopers were sent to southbound US-131 north of Burton Street for a crash involving a school bus and a vehicle.

MSP said witnesses told investigators that the driver of a Ford Fusion going at a “high rate of speed” and lost control. The car clipped the bus and left the roadway. The four people hospitalized who ere in the Fusion with “various degrees of injuries.”

No children were on the bus, MSP said, and the bus driver was uninjured.
