This Greenville family won $100K home makeover. Here’s what they will do, with HGTV help

After nearly two decades in their home, Home & Garden Refresh Giveaway winner Skip Limbaker and his family will be able to see the renovation of their dreams become a reality.

A Mount Pleasant native, Limbaker has worked as a planner for Greenville County Schools for more than 10 years. He and his wife, Elizabeth, who is in the sales industry, have lived in Greenville for about 20 years. The couple has two sons, ages 15 and 12, and a 7-year-old chocolate lab.

They built their 2,106-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bathroom Craftsman home 14 years ago.

Limbaker entered the contest thinking its $100,000 prize could be a way to get around to the various home updates the family had been wanting to do for several years.

“You get to that age, and you need to do some upgrades. Things get outdated, and then, of course, with kids and dogs, walls and everything need to be redone,“ Limbaker said “I saw (the contest) and figured, ‘Why not?’”

He couldn’t believe it when he won.

“It took a while to sink in,” he said. “It wasn’t until we went to the gala that it sunk in, finally.”
