Greater Alarm Fire Decimates Auto Repair Business in Canoga Park

CANOGA PARK, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 13 (KNN) — A large fire engulfed an auto repair shop early Friday morning, causing total loss to the business and posing a significant threat to nearby structures.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a blaze reported at approximately 1:51 a.m. in the 21500 block of West Gault Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a row of one-story commercial buildings with heavy smoke and flames. The fire department quickly adopted a defensive strategy to control the blaze, calling for additional resources and escalating the incident to a Greater Alarm status.

The LAFD confirmed that the location was a five-bay auto body shop, approximately 75 feet by 250 feet in size. Heavy fire was present in all five bays.

Firefighters worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent businesses. The LAFD continued to battle the blaze and manage the situation to safeguard the surrounding area.

The LAFD reported that it took 82 firefighters one hour to knock down the flames with no reported injuries.
