2 injured after shots fired in North Nashville neighborhood

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are investigating a shooting that left at least two people injured in North Nashville.

The shooting happened at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 in the 1700 block of 17th Avenue North, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

Police said multiple citizens in the area called to make reports about shots that were fired in the area.

When officers arrived on scene, they said they found keys, shell casings and live rounds on the sidewalk and street. A home and vehicle in area were also struck by the gunfire, police said.

As officers were investigating the scene, they were reportedly alerted that two people were dropped off at General Hospital in a private vehicle to be treated for gunshot wounds.

According to MNPD, the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and the vehicle that dropped them off at the hospital is being held upon further investigation.
