Anchorage cyclist breaks world record by completing 18K global journey

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – An Anchorage cyclist has put herself into the world record books by completing the quickest ride around the globe among female cyclists ever. Anchorage rider Lael Wilcox finished her marathon journey on Wednesday in Chicago, finishing an outstanding 18,125-mile ride that took her 108 days, 12 hours, and 12 minutes, beating the old record of over 124 days. Wilcox’s record has yet to be officially confirmed by Guinness World Records.
