TEMPLE TERRACE – Your next fuel up could help a person with a cognitive disability live an independent and fulfilling life. Purple signs emblazoned with “Project Focus” adorn five Shell gas stations scattered across the Tampa Bay area signifying that these pumps are collecting one cent for every gallon pumped – up to $250,000 – to benefit the Temple Terrace-based Project Focus, a nonprofit that provides several programs that help empower people from sixth grade into adulthood.
