Police: Rockford man injures two deputies after attempting to disarm an officer

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jimmy Honeycutt, 37, for allegedly attempting to disarm a deputy among other charges.

On September 13, around 11 a.m., deputies went to a domestic incident in the 1300 block of Bond Avenue. Officials found Honeycutt leaving the residence and attempted to take him into custody, according to reports.

Honeycutt struggled with police resulting in him and two deputies being injured. He also allegedly attempted to disarm one of the officers, according to charges.

Honeycutt is being charged with two counts of resisting arrest, two counts of aggravated battery to an officer and attempting to disarm an officer.
