SCHENECTADY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A Schenectady police officer is recovering after he was bit by a dog while executing a search warrant on Second Avenue Friday morning. Police said another officer shot the dog.

The dog was brought to a nearby emergency animal hospital and has since passed away. The officer was released from Albany Medical Center with stitches to his hand.
Police have not released any other details on the search warrant.
