Dillon Gabriel Dazzles as Oregon Shakes Off Cobwebs

Dillon Gabriel and the Oregon Ducks turned in a much-needed performance on Saturday, dominating Oregon State 49-14 after back-to-back narrow, unconvincing victories.

In his third start for the Ducks, Gabriel was near-perfect passing the football, completing 20 of his 24 pass attempts for 291 yards and two touchdowns.

In addition, the Oklahoma transfer ran for 64 yards and a score.

While Gabriel turned in productive outings against Idaho and Boise State, Oregon gave up seven sacks in those two games, while some fans pointed the finger at their senior quarterback.

Against Oregon State, Gabriel wasn’t sacked while putting together his most complete performance as a Duck to date.

With the score tied 7-7 early in the second quarter, Gabriel’s 54-yard touchdown scurry gave Oregon a lead it would never surrender.

Minutes later, the senior found Traeshon Holden for a 20-yard touchdown, extending the Ducks’ lead to 22-7.

While the Beavers punched back at the end of the first half to bring the score to 22-14, Gabriel continued to run the Oregon offense with efficiency in the second half, providing a back-breaking strike to Jayden Limar with 10:43 left in the fourth quarter to take a 46-14 lead.
