An Uber driver’s encounter with an armed robber reached a resolution this week with the arrest of a suspect by the Metropolitan Police Department. The incident, which unfolded back on May 14, in Southeast DC, involved the driver picking up the suspect in nearby Hyattsville, Maryland. The journey ended abruptly on the 3700 block of D Street, Southeast, when the suspect reportedly brandished a firearm and demanded the driver’s wallet and phone.
