Police: Woman, 30, killed in east Columbus crash after attempted U-turn on highway

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — A 30-year-old woman died early Sunday morning after a crash on an east Columbus highway.

Columbus police said that Taquajah Page was driving a Mazda at 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 270 south, south of Interstate 70. While Page was driving, another car was driving left of the Mazda when Page turned left to try and use the emergency vehicle turn around area to do a U-turn onto I-270 north, per police.

Page’s Mazda was hit by the vehicle in the left lane on I-270 south. Police said medics with the Columbus Division of Fire pronounced Page dead at 2:37 a.m. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the crash but two passengers in that vehicle were taken to hospitals. The two passengers are expected to recover from their injuries.

Columbus police’s Accident Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate the crash.
