Volunteers and Staff from Team Harris-Waltz in Augusta for the start of their campaign, New Way Forward battleground tour

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – There are 51 days until Election Day, and both candidates for President are focusing on Georgia as a swing state. Saturday September 14th, volunteers and staff from Team Harris—Waltz and the Democratic Party of Georgia were out spreading their message.

After the first Debate between Vice President Harris and Donald Trump, volunteers and staff from Harris-Waltz and the Democratic Party of Georgia campaigned for the New Way Forward battleground tour.

This is part of a series of campaign events across Georgia, starting in Augusta. The Augusta Richmond County Democratic Party Headquarters is where the canvass launch took place with leaders like the mayor of Kansas City and a Georgia state senator.

“The first thing that I want people to know is to vote. You know I live in a state that’s not a swing state, so we’ll probably show up in November. I hope we’re still show up to vote, but y’all make a big difference,” said Quinton Lucas, Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri. “I think the other thing I want people to think about is to think about what will have a better impact on your life.”
