Denver Weather: Warm temperatures, isolated storms expected for Sunday

DENVER — For today, another warm day, with highs reaching the upper 80s. We’ll see mostly sunny skies, but watch for brief, spotty storms across the front range after 2 p.m. Storms are likely to become stronger and more widespread as they move across the plains. A Marginal risk for severe weather is in effect for the northern plains. Plan for gusty winds, locally-heavy downpours to be your biggest impacts.

As we push through the middle of next week, temperatures are expected to drop into the lower 80s Wednesday and Thursday. Watch for spotty showers to move in late Thursday.

Toward next weekend, fall-like weather is on-tap! Highs are looking to max out in the 70s, Friday and Saturday, with chances for showers each day.

The fall equinox is Sunday.
