New week starts soggy as coastal storm system moves ashore

As the new work week begins, we will be a soggy weather pattern to deal with. We’ve been watching an area offshore of the Carolinas highlighted by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) for potential development.This area has a low pressure system with a 50% chance of developing into a tropical depression. Regardless of development, widespread rains and gusty winds are increasingly likely for the Grand Strand and counties along the NC/SC border on Monday. This is due to the storm approaching the Carolinas’ coast. A landfall is expected sometime on Monday.
