ATLANTA – As Francine’s impacts fade, we’re watching what could become our next tropical or subtropical depression as we start a new week. The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a non-tropical area of low pressure off the southeast coast with a moderate chance of development. They’re giving it a 50% chance of development in the next two days. Even if it is not purely “tropical” in nature, they can issue advisories on “subtropical” storms. The next name on the 2024 Atlantic list is “Helene.”
