HEPHZIBAH, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Coroner’s Office responded to Wellstar / MCG in reference to a shooting death Saturday night.
Both the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and Hephzibah Police Department responded to the 2400 block of Carroll Drive in reference gunshots.
Upon arrival, authorities located an adult male and female who had both been shot at least one time.
The victims were transported to the hospital where the male victim, identified as 37-year-old Eric Council, succumbed to his injuries.
He was pronounced dead at 11:44 p.m.
Constance Jenkins, 38 year old of Hephzibah, was arrested and charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.
An autopsy will be scheduled.
