Steelers Hater: Mark Schlereth ‘Doing A Bit’ in Ridiculous Broncos Prediction

SEPT 15 A BIT It’s called “doing a bit.” And for former NFL lineman Mark Schlereth, it is wearing really, really thin.

The Pittsburgh Steelers roll into Denver to take on the Broncos and the visitors are favored. Maybe that’s because the Steelers are 1-0, or maybe it’s because of coach Mike Tomlin’s stability, or maybe it’s just because rookie QB Bo Nix and the Broncos have yet to prove anything.

But Schlereth, now a talk-show host in Denver who has developed a theatrical “hatred” for Russell Wilson (the ex-Bronco who isn’t even playing today as Justin Fields will start), is not only predicting a Denver win – he’s predicting a blowout.

“Broncos by two touchdowns,” he said, which is fine and fun … but would anybody really bet that an underdog would win by 14 points – unless it’s a “bit”?

SEPT 15 SCOUTING It makes for a sexy story angle: The Pittsburgh Steelers are in Boulder this weekend to watch Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter!

And it is true. A Steelers scout was indeed present for Colorado’s 28-9 win over Colorado State. But is there “more to the story”? Nah. Actually, there is “less to the story.”
