Each year during Broomfield Days, dozens of hopeful children dressed in bright costumes and clown makeup line up for the popular clown contest. The unique costumes range from the traditional curly wigs in every color of the rainbow, accessorized with big, red foam noses to elaborate get-ups featuring pint-sized jesters sitting among elaborate props, like a bathtub filled with balloons as bubbles.
