Much drier, but rather cloudy Sunday ahead…

Expect a mix of sun and clouds this morning and into the afternoon as temperatures start out in the upper 70s with highs in the lower 90s with mainly dry conditions as most rain will be in extreme southern communities throughout the day.

Isolated showers and storms return Monday and linger throughout the work week as a front stalls near the Bay Area. Highs next week will rise to the low 90s with lows in the upper 70s.

The front appears to move through Friday which lowers humidity a bit heading into next weekend as rain chances stay at about 30 percent. Lows will be slightly cooler, dropping to the mid 70s with highs staying near 90 degrees.

Tropical Storm Gordon continues to move westward as a weak tropical storm with winds of 40 mph.  Gordon is expected to encounter drier air and be downgraded to a depression over the coming days and could regenerate back into a tropical storm, but will eventually move the north into cooler waters and not impact any land areas.

A non-tropical area of low pressure is expected to form Sunday or Monday and could acquire some tropical characteristics over the warm waters of the Gulf Stream.  There’s a 50% chance of a tropical depression forming as the system moves toward the Carolina coast.
