Hundreds gather for Rockford’s ‘Out of the Darkness’ walk for suicide prevention

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Layers of beaded necklaces collect on necks of those waiting to walk outside Rock Valley College. Dozens wear family “team” shirts with names or symbols connected to loved ones lost to suicide. On Sunday, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) hosts the annual community walk raising awareness and hope for those touched by the tragedy.
