Police investigate homicide after fatal vehicle shooting

CHICAGO – A 27-year-old man from Wisconsin was fatally shot on Chicago’s West Side late Friday night, and authorities are investigating the case as a homicide.

The victim, Jerrell J. Jordan, was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle at approximately 11:15 p.m. in the 4700 block of West Lake Street in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. According to reports, someone in a blue sedan opened fire on the vehicle, striking Jordan in the chest.

Jordan, who was from Albany, Wisconsin, was immediately transported to Stroger Hospital. Despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after his arrival.

Law enforcement officials are currently leading a homicide investigation. Area Four detectives are handling the case, but no arrests have been made, and no suspects are in custody at this time.

Witnesses at the scene confirmed that the shots were fired from a blue sedan, but details remain limited as the investigation unfolds. Chicago police have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward as they continue their efforts to identify the individuals responsible.
