Guy Fieri to feature Tommy’s Diner, a Columbus classic, on ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives’

Tommy’s Diner , the 35-year-old Franklinton diner that’s as much a Columbus classic as the Johnny Marzetti that still makes an occasional arrival on its menu, is set to become the next local restaurant to make an appearance on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

“We put the diner in ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,'” Tommy’s opined in social media posts announcing the upcoming TV appearance. It’s set to air Friday at 9 p.m. on Food Network.

Tommy’s is the third Columbus restaurant featured by Fieri in shows aired over the last month. He likely visited them all during a trip here in late May for the opening of his first central Ohio restaurant, Guy Fieri’s Trattoria , at Eldorado Scioto Downs on the Far South Side. Fieri was born in Columbus in 1968 but grew up in California.

“Your town is blown up with food, by the way,” he said during his May visit. “I’ve been coming to Columbus for quite a while. The food scene has just ratcheted up.”
