The average price for a gallon of gasoline dropped 8.4 cents in the last week, to $2.70 according to GasBuddy. Prices are now 38.1 cents/g lower than a month ago and 71.4 cents/g lower than a year ago in Birmingham. Nationally, diesel has dropped 3.4 cents/ gallon, and is now $3.57/g, which is the lowest it has been since January 2022.
