Charlotte man accused of killing Allisha Watts due in court Monday

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — James Dunmore, the Charlotte man accused of murdering Allisha Watts, will be in court on Monday.

Dunmore was Watts’ boyfriend and was arrested last August at his home in the University City area after the 39-year-old’s body was discovered near a cemetery in Montgomery County.

A manhunt for Dunmore was launched shortly after Watts was reported missing. Dunmore made an apparent suicide attempt before troopers discovered him inside Watts’ missing vehicle at an Anson County parking lot, according to warrants.

Dunmore was reportedly treated at the hospital, but his whereabouts were unknown prior to his August arrest.

Dunmore was previously denied a lower bond from the $1 million bond in March.
