‘Michelle’s Mighty Mission’: South Charlotte 24,000-meter rowing fundraiser sees big turnout

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Charlotte fitness junkies and their supporters took part this weekend in the annual 24,000-meter row, raising money for cancer research through Michelle’s Mighty Mission .

A co-founder of Sugar Creek Brewing started the event five years ago while his sister Michelle was fighting cancer. She lost that battle, but her legacy lives.

Teams competed against each other to reach the ultimate goal of rowing 24,000 meters. The annual event is also supported by the 24 Foundation.

So far, they’ve raised more than $105,000 for this year’s event.
