Cooler weather on tap today with chance of light showers

We are less than a week away from the first day of fall and today’s cool temperatures are already giving us a preview of the crisp autumn air.

Another cool day is on tap for Southern California with highs in the 70s away from the coasts, 80s for the deserts. The beaches will see highs in the mid 60s to low 70s.

There’s also a chance of showers this morning from the coasts to the mountains. The chances are greater in the San Gabriel and San Bernardino mountains. Forecasters say the chances of light showers will die down by the early afternoon but come Wednesday, we can expect another showery morning.

Some detailed forecasts:

  • 66 degrees in Redondo Beach
  • 71 degrees in the city of Orange and San Bernardino
  • 74 degrees in Chatsworth
  • 84 degrees in Coachella Valley.

Tonight’s lows will drop to the 50s.

Poor air quality will continue to linger until Tuesday as three major wildfires continue to burn in SoCal.
