Festival guide: Fall into fun with a ton of celebrations in Montgomery area

With the official start of fall on Sept. 22, we have about as many festivals in the Montgomery area as we have leaves falling off the trees. Well, maybe not quite that many, but it’s a lot, and many of them are free. Best of all, you can make it to most of them if you like.

Fall Festival 2024 at MMFA

  • When: Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
  • Where: Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, One Museum Drive in Blount Cultural Park.
  • Cost: Free to attend
  • Info: This year, the Fall Festival’s theme revolves around how art connects everyone. All the artists live in and make art in Alabama. Fall Festival celebrates Montgomery’s creative culture, and features local and regional artists from all backgrounds. It’ll have an art market with more than 30 vendors, live music, art demonstrations, food trucks and tastings with local brewers. The Artist Market booths feature fine arts and crafts from the River Region. This event is rain or shine; in the case of inclement weather, activities will be moved indoors.
