Convicted felon sentenced to prison for having weapons in Martinez home

A convicted felon was recently sentenced to more than seven years in prison after drug enforcement agents found multiple guns in his Martinez home.

Zanuck Lorenzo Berry, 43, of Martinez, was sentenced to more than seven years in prison and fined $1,500 after pleading guilty to possession of a gun by a convicted felon, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia.

Drug Enforcement Administration agents searched Berry’s home in January 2023 as part of a drug trafficking investigation and found an assault-style rifle, two semiautomatic “ghost gun” pistols, a third handgun and a shotgun, according to the release.
