Community Partners of South Florida and the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County are hosting a free information session for Palm Beach County families on September 18, 2024 at Community Partners of South Florida on 2001 W. Blue Heron Blvd. in Riviera Beach between 5:00pm-7:30pm.
Sponsored by JPMorgan Chase, the focus of the session will be on the rights of heirs and how to keep generational wealth in the family and will also cover estate planning, preparation of wills and trusts, probate issues and how to protect your property.
According to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, heirs’ property issues disproportionately affect African-American households, particularly in low-income communities and this problem is especially prevalent in the southeastern United States.
“The Heirs Property Information Session provides a solution for families and legacy residents to foster intergenerational wealth and create a space for neighborhoods to thrive,” said Lynda Charles, Vice-President of Housing at Community Partners of South Florida. “This presents an opportunity to garner resources to rehabilitate estates that may be abandoned due to multiple heirs and put them back to the housing inventory.”
