USF President Gets $282,000 Raise But Still Makes Less Than UF and FSU Presidents At $1 Million

Floridians know that some of Florida’s Universities have received accolades recently. For example, the University of Florida ranked 28th for national universities on U.S. News + World Report’s 2024 best colleges list. FSU was named number 8 as a value college on that same list. And in 2023, USF was invited to join the Association of American Universities, which is a prestigious group of 71 leading research institutions in North America.

Since Florida’s university president bonuses are tied to performance, it arguably makes sense that Florida university presidents have sizable salaries. And one – USF’s Rhea Law just received a substantial raise, but she still makes less than some of the state’s university presidents.

About USF President Rhea Law: According to USF’s website, Law has a varied background. She graduated from USF with a bachelor’s degree in management before seeking a law degree at Florida’s Stetson University. She used that degree as the CEO and chair of the board at the law firm of Fowler White Boggs. After her legal career, Law became USF’s 8th president in 2022 after serving on the board of USF’s Health Professions Conferencing Corporation.
